A rare opportunity to hear Dr Clive Wynne and Dr Lisa Gunter discuss canine behaviour in their only UK appearance for 2019. Clive will examine the latest understanding in emotion and cognition, and Lisa will explore the latest research in relation to dogs in and coming out from rescue.


Sat 10:00 – 12:00 Clive What makes a dog a dog? What do they need from us? Cognition & Emotion
Sat 1:00 2:30 Lisa Dogs in shelters – who are they? Breed identification, its impact on adoptions, accuracy etc.
Sat 3:00 – 4:30 Clive What does adoptable behavior look like? How to improve shelter dogs’ behavior cheaply (Sasha’s work)
Sun 10:00 – 12:00 Lisa How to know when a shelter dog is stressed. Enrichment. Sleepovers & fostering
Sun 1:00 – 2:30 Clive Learning & Conditioning – behavior analytic approaches to behavioral problems
Sun 3:00 – 4:30 Lisa It’s not enough just getting out – relinquishment & return. Parting thoughts. Questions (with Clive)

Free parking and discounted accommodation available at Bath Uni Campus. Lunch is provided both days, along with refreshments. Assistance/therapy dogs welcome. Carers/enablers come free. Please let us know if you have any mobility or dietary requirements.
