INTO Dogs Code of Practice

INTO Dogs has created the Code of Professional Conduct and Responsibility to set out aims and guidelines for our members of all levels to provide outstanding service and pursue continuing education. We also hope that this will give dog owners the confidence that our members are knowledgeable, caring and able to help them achieve their training needs through the use of dog-friendly training.

As a member of the Association INTO Dogs I will strive to:

Provide honest, professional services of the highest standards.

Use training methods that adhere to INTO Dogs mission of dog-friendly training. Treat all dogs and clients with respect.

Respect clients’ wishes regarding the training of their dogs.

Continue my professional development by reading relevant materials; attending suitable conferences, workshops and seminars etc

Not give guarantees regarding the outcome of training, because there is no sure way to guarantee the cooperation and performance of all parties involved and because the knowledge of animal behaviour is incomplete. This should not be confused with a desire to guarantee client satisfaction with professional services.

Hold the privacy of my clients in confidence and all information obtained in the course of professional services, unless otherwise agreed upon in advance.

Be respectful of colleagues and other professionals and not falsely condemn the character of their professional acts

"INTO Dogs has provided me with a wealth of education and information from my fellow members. It also offers a supportive, non judgemental network of likeminded colleagues and friends...who all have a good sense of humour too. I'm proud to be part of this worthwhile association"
